25 Relief Camps Being Opened For Border Area Villagers

Chandigarh, Sep 30, 2016: The Punjab government has decided to open 25 relief camps in the border belt of Ferozepur district to accommodate villagers who been been directed to evacuate their houses.

The order to this effect states that this was being done in the wake of possibility of war between India and Pakistan.

Every cetre is to be provided 3000 food packets each.

The packets are to include Chana (500 gms-Rs 75), Gur (250 gm Rs 8), Candles (Rs 10), Match box (rs 2), Biscuit (parle-G Rs 5) and Packing and Transportation Rs 8. each packet to cost Rs 108.

The Ferozepur district administration has cancelled the leave of government employees.

A 6-member coordination committee has been set up for the border districts of Ferozepur, Fazilka, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Tarn Taran.
