Review: The most awaited Punjabi film of the year, ‘Double Di Trouble’, starring Punjabi heartthrob Gippy Grewal & veteran actor Dharmendra is recently released on 29th of the August. The movie is a riot of laughter but not is an expected treat for the viewers.

As per declaration, the movie is based on the Shakespeare’s most read and critically analysed plays ‘The Comedy of Errors’ but actually it is not like that. Most of the movie is look like old film ‘Angoor’ (1982). It doesn’t look nice naaa!

Coming to the story, ‘Double Di Trouble’ proves weak on this level. The whole movie completes in two and a half or three days of the lives of characters. It looks that it is a melange of characters, trying to solve their trouble in a zip. The movie goes fast than required. It is a typical flick with lots of confusion, so it is very tough for audience to keep interest in movie. The main trouble, which viewers faced is.. How to determine the double characters of Gippy (Fateh Singh & Ekam) & Dharmendra (Ajit Singh & Manjit)?

On the part of the costumes the movie got a big fat zero. The movie completes in two-three dresses. Even the double roles of Gippy & Dharmendra wear same dresses in whole movie…this the main reason why viewers had a problem in differentiating the characters. Even after many tries I am not able to forgot the one boring dress of Kulraj Randhawa which she wears in whole movie- the purple Kurta with white leggings!

Actress Minisha Lamba gets a limited time to show her acting skills. Her role is too circumscribed but she looks too pretty in Punjabi suits. Kulraj is looking good & her salutary acting & perfect dialouge delivery is a proof of her accomplishment. Poonam Dhillon is weak in her character. Her way of delivering the dialogues is not so good. Gurpreet Ghuggi is good in his part but his character is not according to his acting skills. He can do better than this. B.N. Sharma & Karamjit Anmol are adequate in their roles.

Actor Dharmendra is excellent in both of his roles. His dialogue delivery & expressions are too good. He also shows his dancing skills in song ’26 Ban Gayi’ with Gippy Grewal & in ‘Lak Tunu Tunu’ with Neha Dhupia. Gippy Grewal’s acting depicts his improvisation.

‘Double Di Trouble’ is directed by Smeep Kang who earlier directed Carry On Jatta, Lucky Di Unlucky Story and Bhaji In Problem. The locations of the movie is not too good. The movie finishes revolving around the 3-4 venues.

Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia’s dancing number is OK! Jazzy B’s special appearance is totally a surprise for the viewers. He is looking good in his cameo.

The background music of the movie is comely. The music director Jatinder Shah delivers proper music to the songs. The song ‘Tera Mera Sath’, got the music of Sufi sensation Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, is a very lovable song. Dialogues writers Naresh Kathuria & Manoj Sabharwal keep entertaining audience in parts. Their dialogues properly tickle the funny bones of the viewers.

Overall, ‘Double Di Trouble’ is a one time watch average movie. If anybody wants to laugh….&…laugh go & watch the movie. NOT FOR SERIOUS AUDIENCE! Because they don’t get anything in it. ‘Double Di Trouble’ Is ONLY The Riot Of Laughter.
