Aug 23, 2016: A delegation of 7 students and two teachers of KMV, the Heritage Institution returned from a ten day educational trip to Boston University, an Ivy League university of USA. The students and faculty were invited by Boston University as a result of the long and meaningful association between the two institutions.
During their stay in BU, the students participated in various programmes and activities designed and arranged specially for them.
They also attended talks and interacted with esteemed faculty members of Boston University including Dean Elmore, Dean of Students at BU, Mr. Zach Hobbs, Director of
Community Services Program, Miss Katherine Kennedy, Director Howard Thurman Center, Miss Shiney James, Director and Posse 2 Mentor of BU. Dr.
Gopi Sharma, Dean International Affairs and Mr. Pardeep Arora from the Dept. Of Computer Science accompanied the group that included Vijeta, Rupali, Baljit, Amanpreet, Kamalpreet, Kirandeep, Amanpreet. While at Boston, the students also met the officials at the International Admissions Office of BU to explore the possibility of continuining their education in the US. The trip also included visits to New York and some of the top universities of the world like Harvard, MIT and Lesley University.
The tour was aimed at providing significant international exposure to the students while promoting co-operation between the two institutions and paving way for many more collaborative ventures including admission of students and bilateral exchange of joint events in the future. The students savoured campus and student life in America while participating in several academic, social and cultural events that made their trip highly eventful, informative as well as engaging.
Principal KMV, Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, congratulated the student for a successful and enjoyable trip.
She informed that KMV already has tie-ups with American institutions as a part of which the students can get admission in Chatham University and Lisley University, USA with their credits of KMV transferred to that University. She also apprised that this trip to Boston University is also a step in that direction.
