Students Of SGGSWU Secure 1st Position In Radio Jingle Contest

Oct 14, 2015: Rajwinder Singh and Ram Parkash of MBA 1st semester won the first prize in the Radio Jingle Contest. Second prize was bagged by Pawanjot Singh and Kiran Justa of BBA 5th Semester followed by Manpreet Kaur and Dilmohanpreet Kaur of BBA 3rd Smester.

The Business Club of School of Commerce and Management, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a Radio Jingle Contest on October 10, 2015. The main motive behind the contest was to encourage the students to bring out their innovative and unique advertisements for radio.

More than 16 teams comprising of two students each recorded their radio advertisements on various products like Educational Institutes, Restaurants, Fast Food Joints, Cars, Washing powder etc. The students presented a wide variety of inventive ideas to show case the features and qualities of the given products .

The Contest was inaugurated by Dr. Gurmohan Singh Walia, Vice Chancellor of SGGS World University. He blessed the students and motivated them to participate in extra curricular activities. He further added that such events help to bring out the hidden talent amongst the students.

Speaking on the occasion Dr R K Sharma, Head School of Commerce and Management applauded the efforts of the students for their exceptional ideas in creating radio advertisements. He highlighted the fact that radio audiences have increased many fold in the past few years and this emerging industry offers various employment opportunities.

He encouraged the students to come forward for such participation in the future. Dr B S Bhatia , Dean Research stressed the need of extra-curricular activities in teaching learning process and congratulated the participants for their zeal and fervor.
