‘Truck’ Song Is Close To My Heart: Ravinder Grewal

Oct 20, 2014-(Nidhi): ‘Tedi Pagg Waleya’ singer Ravinder Grewal, who marks his debut in Punjabi film industry with ‘Raula Pai Gaya’, recently released his new track ‘Truck‘ which is very funny. In a candid chit chat with ‘YoungIndia’ he talks about his track & upcoming projects.

Q: From where you get such a funny concept for ‘Truck’?
Ans: Me & my team of ‘Raula Pai Gaya’ (director Atharv Baluja) had earlier done 2-3 songs like Kabutari & when I got this track ‘truck’ then I think that this is only meant for me, this is very close to my heart. First of all we complete with the audio, give it a modern music. We also use ‘sarangi‘ to give a traditional look to the song. ‘Truck’ is a very light song. Then we decide to give a funny look to the song through its video. We want to make it a vast song, by which anyone who listen it, get rid of their tension. We went near to Leh (Khardung La) & I think we went to the world’s highest road for the singing part of the video. And the story part of the track was shoot in Chandigarh.

Q: Which type of person Ravinder Grewal is in real life – Funny or serious?
Ans: I think I am funny. I have a very small social circle & in my circle I am the most funny person. But I never mix-up with the people easily.

Q: Your favourite singer from new generation?
Ans: Favourite….. those persons who are giving good content to the music industry, those make a commitment to their work are my favourites because I am very committed to my work & always sing as per my wish. Some of our new generation singers are really giving good content to the industry. I like Ranjit Bawa’s ‘Munda Sardaran Da‘, Ammy Virk’s ‘Khet‘ & Kulwinder Billa’s ‘Mera Desh Hove Punjab‘.

Q: Upcoming songs?
Ans: Everything is changed in these 4 to 5 years. Now, the era of albums came to an end. Singles took the place of the albums. Now, I have decided not to make a huge gap between my songs. In coming one & half to two months I want to give my another tracks. I have ‘Surma’ & ‘LG Da Rond’ with me.

Q: Upcoming films?
Ans: Shooting of my upcoming film ‘Moga to Melbourne’ is complete. Only release date is to be announce. The movie also features Harjit Harman & Bhagwant Mann. ‘Moga to Melbourne‘ is based on the concept of ‘Student Visa’. I am also working on the concept of another film with ‘Raula Pai Gaya’ team.

‘YoungIndia’ wishing him all the best for his future.
